Overview:
“The masters of Art are asking YOU to BE THEM!” This project concerns looking at and making Art through its history and artists. In this project, discussions and observations range from the first recorded art which are the Lascaux Cave Paintings, to the rebirth of Art in the 15th century, and all the way through to the 20th century. This project tests the skills students have and want to learn. "sUBliME" is designed for students to take what they know and what they want to know and applying these skills to make a successful art piece inspired by an artist of their choosing, in which students are responsible for providing their own materials to make this work in Art class. Students may request an additional artist upon approval...
Essential Questions:
- How can middle-school students make modern art inspired by the Masters of Art?
- Using all forms of artistic practice, which fine artist do students embrace in order to make quality and beautiful work? (major and minor)
